Where to study architecture in Senegal?

Training in architecture is provided in Senegal by three training schools which are: SUPTEC BATIS, IPP and CUAD.

Higher Institute of New Technologies for Building Trade and Health (SUPTEC BATIS)  

This training includes an architecture and civil engineering module. Indeed, it is essentially academic based on theoretical and practical courses. However, it begins each year in November and ends in July. Moreover, the advantage of this training is the flexibility it offers in terms of time management. You can schedule your lessons during the day or in the evening. The faculty is made up of qualified professionals and business leaders.

How are registrations for SUPTEC BATIS carried out??  

To enroll in the school, you must provide these documents:

  • Two photos
  • A photocopy of the national identity card
  • A photocopy of the baccalaureate statement
  • Photocopy of transcripts (2n/a, 1er and terminal)

What are the registration fees?

  • 35,000 CFA francs for the uniform payable in two instalments
  • The training takes place over two years. In the first year, you will pay a fee of 15,000 CFA francs per month and in the second year a sum of 45,000 CFA francs per month

Pan African Polytechnic Institute (IPP) 

IPP is above all a school of entrepreneurship which helps these students in their individual careers. In addition, for pedagogy, the school offers three distinct streams: Civil Engineering, the Management Science and thearchitecture.

What are the architecture courses offered by IPP?  

The architecture courses provided by IPP aim to provide solid skills in the design of architectural projects. You can make a bachelor's degree in architecture or a master's degree.

How is the teaching?

Teaching is purely pedagogical at the IPP. Indeed, to consolidate the knowledge acquired, students must do internships in companies every year.

How are classes organized within the school??  

The training is organized in six semesters for the bachelor's degree, i.e. two semesters per year and an internship in a company. Whereas, for the master's you will have to do four semesters.

The license takes place in three years with six semesters. However, each semester has its well-defined program. Indeed, in the license in the first semester, you will have to do internships over 40 hours and practical work over 84 hours per semester and workshops in urban planning and architecture.

A professional master  

The master takes place over two years with four semesters. Indeed, you will have to do courses and seminars on architecture, personal development, construction economics. Each year the modules are accompanied by reinforcement courses. In master 2 the courses focus on architecture, drawings and observations, methodology and a graduation project. The school is near Cheikh Anta Diop University.
