The University Institute of Fisheries and Aquaculture (IUPA)   

IUPA was created in 2003 at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. Their program aims to train people capable of doing this job and then facilitate their integration into the professional environment. The learning is spread over 1,320 hours, of which 705 hours, intended for the acquisition of skills directly related to the profession and 615 hours intended for the acquisition of more general professional knowledge on fish farming.

Admission requirements to IUPA

  • Bac +2 university degree in DUEL DUES or DEUG
  • Bac +2 BTS (higher technician certificate)
  • DTS: diploma of higher technician in fishing

Fish farming training in Senegal: the National Training Center for Fisheries and Aquaculture Technicians (CNFTPA)   

The CNFTPA now offers courses in aquaculture. Indeed, it has extended these cheese activities to fish farming and inland fishing. In addition, it trains young people in the trade with professional diplomas.

The conditions of access to the CNFTPA

Fish farming training in Senegal: Gaston Berger University of Saint Louis (UGB)

UGB offers a bachelor's degree in aquaculture. Indeed, the program is open to students of S1, S2, S4, and S5. Access to the program is based on the marks obtained by the student in the baccalaureate exams. The grades concerned are (SVT, MATH and PC). The license takes place within three years. At the end of the training, the student can have access to the following opportunities:
